Panarroz Jumilla 2006


Wine Name: Panarroz Jumilla

Origin: Spain

Cost: $10

My thoughts: When just decanted, this wine has a very strong aroma – from 3 feet away! The scent was raw and sour, as best I can describe. The color was a deep opaque burgundy. I liked the flavor. The tannins were nice; it was a bit astringent when swallowed. Nice long finish. This would be great with macaroni and cheese or risotto.

I neglected to jot down what kind of grapes were in this wine. According to the Control Board of the DOC Jumilla, most wines in the region are from the Monastrell variety. (From
